I Completed the 30-Day Book Marketing Challenge

The 30-Day Book Marketing Challenge winds down on Saturday, June 6. D’vorah, our gracious host, emailed our daily challenge for those 30 days and asked the participants to take one action step in a twenty-four-hour period.

Each day I read and listened to professionals share their expertise. Each day, I accomplished one step, however small. At times, my brain hurt and playing with my three dogs seemed much more appealing.

At times, I thought who would care if I dropped out. But I couldn’t. I owed my full attention to the new friends and the professionals who donated their time to help me succeed.

Develop Your Author Platform, my favorite marketing strategy; put marketing my book into perspective for me. I learned valuable techniques to help me increase my visibility as an author. I enhanced my author central account, set up this blog and participated in my first Fan Page Friday. What a hoot!  And, my notebook is chockful of action steps to propel me on.

I still have a lot of work to do but I now have tools to help me market the two  e-books in the series “On RVing Time”.   Here are the links to amazon.com.

I  hope to finish the third book in my series by the end of the year.

And now, I have completed the final action step in this 30-day Challenge.

My heartfelt thanks goes out to D’vorah Lanksy and her team of experts for making this Challenge available to authors like me struggling with the marketing abyss .

As D’vorah always says, “Here’s to your success.”

Thank you for dropping by.

Hi S.A. I have not been able to participate in the 30 day challenge like I hoped when I signed up but did become a gold member so I could go through it when life slows down. I loved your blog hop. My sisters and I will be going to Wyoming in a couple of months and I’m here to tell you, it’s more than a bit scary for me. I will visit your FB page and give a like for ya.

Hello Sharon and congrats on completing the 30-day Book Marketing Challenge with D’vorah. I was there, too, and really enjoyed the program. For me, the biggest tip was how to arrange a virtual book tour. Am now in the process of trying to bring that to fruition. Have fun in the RV, and keep your eye out for good chocolate along the way!

This course was an eye-opener for me as well. It helped that they broke everything down into terms even a newbie like me could understand. Such as, I never thought of author platform as being simply where the author is visible. Good luck with your books and your marketing adventure. The fun is just beginning.

Hi Sharon, I’m so intrigued with your topic and am thrilled with the realizations you are having regarding the marketing of your books. Have you thought of creating a video series of weekly tips or a video course, to support RVers along their journey, and those who are preparing to hit the road? Lots of possibilities here!

The open road and nothing to hold you back except the extent of your own imagination…What a lifestyle!! Congratulations on the first two books. You definitely have a target market. Love your site and the fact that you double space between paragraphs…I love the extra white space and may take an important lesson away!! I do hope that our paths continue to cross as we embark on the next leg of the journey together.

Thanks for the encouraging words, Nancy. I almost gave up on the challenge. The devil on my shoulder kept saying “Who would care about your subject?” I’m glad I completed the challenge and look forward to sharing our journey to success together.

Hi Sharon! Great job with both this site and your Facebook page! Hard to tell you are a newbie to marketing. You seem further ahead than I am. Love your video. I am also a Canadian married to a bloke from England. Last Summer we bought a one-ton truck and a 25-foot 5th wheel – which I thought was HUGE – until we went to Southern California for the Winter and were one of the smallest rigs in the park. That was our first trip. Meant to test it out on a weekend prior to the long-haul but didn’t have time. Should have read your books first. Really look forward to travelling this road with you – in more ways than one.

Love the blog. I’ve always wanted to do the RV thing, but that’s not going to happen in my real world. As for book marketing, I’m going with focused baby steps. When I think of everything at once, I want to climb into bed and pull covers over my head. Good luck with your books..

Oh Hazel. You never know what the future will bring. My husband will tell you, in the beginning of our RV adventures, he had to drag me by the armpits through RVland. heheheheh I so relate to your words about baby steps. I just hope I can continue taking a step forward each day but be gentle to myself if I can’t. I’m so pleased our paths crossed and look forward to continuing our friendship.

Sharon, you chose a good strategy to focus on. I think a lot of people are interested in stories about RV travel. Thanks to your efforts, they can find your books and enjoy the ride.

I wish you all the best as you go forward in your career as an author!

I agree with Gina – there are a lot of people who travel and Holiday with an RV and there aren’t enough travel books about it for people who enjoy the lifestyle to read. I think you have discovered a nice under served niche that is dying to be filled by someone who enjoys RV’s and the ‘On the road’ lifestyle 🙂
